Choose your state

Each state has its own practice exams and prices.

A submitted state law practice question with the correct answer marked, an explanation for each choice and the quoted statute it comes from.

Why Prep Retention

What makes Prep Retention different

Built around one idea: you should know exactly why every answer is right, straight from the law.

  • Built for the exam you will actually take

Every state gets its own practice exams, built to that state's current exam outline: the same sections and the same number of questions in each. Massachusetts: 50 general and 30 state law. Tennessee: 50 general and 18 state law. South Carolina: 50 general and 25 state law. Pennsylvania: 100 questions in the PSI section mix, with state law inside the sections.

  • The law quoted in every answer

After you submit, every paid question quotes the statute, rule or official source it comes from, with a link to read it yourself.

  • All four choices explained

You see why the right answer is right and why each wrong answer is wrong, on every question.

  • Sources we keep checking

We re-check the source behind every question on a schedule. If a source stops loading, or no longer shows the quoted text, on two checks in a row, that question comes out of the practice exams until it is fixed.

  • Timed like the real exam

Where the state publishes the exam time, our full practice exam gets that same total time for the same number of scored questions. Tennessee, for example, gives 1 hour and 45 minutes for 68 scored questions plus 9 unscored pretest questions, so our 68-question exam gets 105 minutes, about 1.54 minutes per question.

  • One price, everything included

$54.99 per exam or $79.99 for both. One-time payment, no subscription, 180 days of access. All seven study tools come with every package.
